Holla ladies,

How did our skin types self-test go ?

Still on skincare, our focus today will be on ‘Mosturizers’.

What are moisturizers?

Moisturizer or moisturiser is a cosmetic preparation used for protecting, moisturizing, and lubricating the skin.

So let’s talk moisturizers….

Moisturizers are a must for a good skin whether oily, dry, combination or sensitive skin. They help to seal in moisture into the outer layer of the skin. There are lots of moisturizers everywhere some of which even help exfoliate dead skin.

Best moisturizers should contain the most common glycerin which can not easily cause skin reactions or irritation.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING OR BUYING A MOISTURIZER.

1. Pick moisturizers with sunscreen preferably SPF30.

2. Choose moisturizers with Retinol (vit A), they are really good.A skin doctor once recommended it to me but I have noticed they are usually expensive; and most times needs to be prescribed.

3. Moisturizing rule by Jackie Aina: Moisturize every day, regardless of skin type.

4. Apply on damp skin if possible.

5. For people with oily face; you can look out for oil free/ water based moisturizers.

Below are some products I have used and can say worked well for me…

I. Garnier Oil Free Moisturizer (face/body)

II. Cetaphil (face/body). Good for kids too (my last kid has a dry skin and it helped)

III. Cera Ve (moisturizers)

IV. Olay/Clinique (used that for my mum)

V. Eucerin

VI. Nivea also has some good moisturizers too

VII. St Ives

VIII. Aveeno

IX. Neutrogena

Please note:- None of all these are lightening, if you want to get light, that’s a different journey entirely..

These products just moisturize.. so don’t get a moisturizing cream and say it’s not even making me glow🤣 … it’s just a moisturizer.

If you know any other moisturizer, do share please by leaving suggestions in the comment section
